What is DNS record?
An individual entry in DNS — A, AAAA, MX, CNAME, TXT and more — that routes a specific kind of traffic.
A DNS record is a single instruction inside the DNS zone of your domain. Each type does a different job: A and AAAA records point your domain at a server, MX records direct email, CNAME creates aliases, and TXT records hold verification and anti-spam data. Whenever you connect a domain to hosting, mail or a third-party service, you are really just adding or editing one of these records. Our free DNS lookup tool shows the live records of any domain.
